Great Start Readiness Program

GSRP is Michigan's state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children. The program is free to families who meet certain income guidelines.  GSRP uses developmentally appropriate practices in a play-based curriculum to prepare children to successfully enter kindergarten. Jr.-Sr High School (7-12)

Capac Jr.-Sr. High School is a dynamic educational institution that provides a comprehensive and innovative learning experience. The school combines a strong academic foundation with a wealth of extracurricular opportunities, ensuring that every student has the chance to thrive in and outside the classroom. One of the key features of Capac Jr.-Sr. High School is its 1-to-1 Technology Program, which ensures that every student has access to a personal device to enhance learning. This program fosters a technology-driven classroom where students can engage with interactive lessons, collaborate digitally, and access resources that support their academic growth. The Agriculture Program at Capac High School is another standout, offering hands-on learning in areas such as animal science, horticulture, and agribusiness. Capac Jr.-Sr.High School also offers a variety of Sports Programs, including football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, track and field, and more. With dedicated coaches and a focus on academics as well as athletics, students excel in sports while developing essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. The school’s sports teams compete at the regional and state levels, creating a sense of school spirit and community. Virtual Education Program (K-12)

The Capac Virtual Education Program (CVEP) offers a comprehensive K-12 online education tailored to diverse student needs. Students can choose between fully virtual learning from home or a hybrid model that combines in-person sessions with online coursework. Both options provide access to core subjects, various electives, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, CTE courses, and credit recovery opportunities. Students at Capac Virtual Education Program have access to a variety of enriching opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting, allowing them to expand their academic horizons and gain real-world skills. These opportunities include dual enrollment, St. Clair TEC, and Blue Water Middle College, each offering unique pathways for students to prepare for their futures. Additionally, on-site tutoring is available from highly qualified staff, and necessary equipment is provided to ensure all students can succeed. CVEP is particularly beneficial for students facing attendance challenges, medical conditions, or those who have been part of the home-schooled community. By offering flexible learning environments and personalized support, CVEP aims to help every student achieve their educational goals.

School of Choice

Students residing in a public school district that is a part of the St. Clair County RESA, in a public school district contiguous to the Capac Community Schools District boundaries, or in a public school district that is part of any intermediate school district that is contiguous to the St. Clair County RESA boundaries may apply to attend school in the Capac Community Schools District.

Completed applications for the 1st semester of 2025-2026  Schools of Choice transfers will be accepted beginning on July 9th through July 20th, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.  Because we accept unlimited applications for all grades, you may also apply by the end of the first week of classes by 4:00 p.m.  Applications will not be accepted by Capac Community Schools before July 9th. Applications will be online at the link below, at any of the schools, and at Capac Community Schools Central Office, 541 North Glassford Street, P.O. Box 610, Capac, or by calling (810) 395-3705.
