Capac High School Hall of Fame Members

The Capac Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to those athletes and coaches who have represented Capac High School in interscholastic competition and achieved top State honors in their chosen sport. It also honors those who have made outstanding all-around contributions to interscholastic athletics at Capac High School. The individuals and teams enshrined on these walls are an integral part of the Capac Schools Athletic Tradition. May their achievements be an example and an inspiration to those young men and women who will follow them.

Jessica Medrano Fischer

This Capac High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductee is a 2007 graduate. Jessica Medrano Fischer was a stand-out in Cross Country and Track. She earned All-State Honors in 2005 for the 300-meter hurdles, And in 2006 She was all-state again for the 400-meter dash. She also was regional champion in the 800-meter relay, 1600-meter relay, and 400-meter dash. We are honored to welcome Jessica into the Hall of Fame for her outstanding Athletic Achievements.

Mike Rawlins

Mike Rawlins is from the Class of 1990. He earned All-State honors in Football, on Offense as a running back, with a 9.1-yard carry average, and also in defense as a linebacker. He was on the All-Metro team, in the greater Detroit area, and is a former school record holder for touchdowns at 32. Mike was also a track standout and is the school record holder for the high jump, and former record holder for the long jump, and 100-yard dash. He was also the Regional champion in the high jump and long jump. In Basketball, Mike excelled at both offense and defense, earning 1st team all-league honors for both. He earned 11 varsity letters and is a 4 time James Kondrath award winner.

Coach Mike Glennie

Coach Glennie was a Phys. Ed. Teacher at Capac from 1996-2000 - AND served as the Head Football Coach. Coach Glennie rebuilt the Capac Football program from the bottom up; logging the best season record in history in 1998- 10-1 ; earning league championships in 1997, 98 and 99 - and acquiring the first ever playoff berth in 1997. Under Coach Glennie the Chiefs would make it to the District Finals in 1999...and the Regional Finals... in 1997 and 1998.During his five years of coaching, his record was 35 and 16...and included a 24 game winning streak. Coach Glennie received numerous awards, including 2 time Associated Press All State Coach of the Year, and the MHSFCA Steve Spicer Leadership Award.Coach Glennie is currently an Assistant Football Coach at Concordia University in Ann Arbor. 

Coach Chris Huss

Coach Huss was a teacher at Capac High School where he taught for thirty years. In addition to teaching Coach Huss coached girls basketball on and off from 1989-2016 as well as varsity golf. Coach Huss took the Lady Chiefs to their first-ever regional championship in 1989, (these ladies were also inducted into the CHS Athletic Hall of Fame during the Harry C. Moore Basketball Tournament),....he coached teams to 4 Conference Championships... and District Championships in 1989, 90 and 2012.... tallying 201 Varsity wins at Capac High School. In 2013 Coach Huss reached a milestone 300th career win. Coach Huss received many awards throughout his career, including the Blue Water area Coach of the Year in 1989. Currently, Chris is coaching the Women’s Basketball team at St. Clair County Community College.

Dr. Dale L. Moore

Dr. Moore was a Capac graduate in 1978 and taught at Capac High School for two years (1998-2000). He coached from 1984-1989 and 1998-2000. Dr. Moore coached Freshmen (84-86), was JV Head Coach (99-00), and Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach (86-89). He was Head Coach for JV Volleyball 98-99 and Head Coach for Varsity Softball 85-86.

As an athlete Dr. Moore earned his 4-year varsity letter in golf, was  High School  All-American Jr and Sr year, All STA for three years, and League MVP Jr and Sr year. He was undefeated in dual matches in Sr year, held school records at four league golf courses-Dryden Mulberry Hills, Armada Bruce Hills, Memphis Back Nine of Belle River, and the home course of Mill Creek Golf Course. He averaged in the 30's both his Jr and Sr years, was a medalist in his first match as a freshman, and was 16th place in State meet as a senior. In basketball, he received an Honorable Mention in All STA Jr. and Sr. year. He played football as a Freshman and played baseball as a Senior pitching a one-hitter game against Almont. 

Dr. Moore began the Harry C. Moore Memorial Basketball Four-Team Tournaments in 2004. He has awarded $14,000 in school scholarships since 1986 and over $12,000 in tournament scholarships in the fourteen years since the Harry C. Moore Memorial Basketball tournament was established. Dr. Moore has impacted hundreds of area youth through the tournament which is centered on good sportsmanship, integrity, and doing your very best. The tournament has honored former basketball players, community members, and others who are influential in High School sports in the Blue Water area; drawing attention and the spotlight on Capac High School. Dr. Moore is the current Principal at the Lapeer Education and Technology Center.

Coach William Schultz

Coach Schultz was a contributor and Assistant Coach for the Lady Chiefs Softball team since the late 1980's; coaching in the softball program  for over 30 years. Coach Schultz assisted Coach Redding, Bennett and Mailloux; during that time the Lady Chiefs won District Championships in 2006 and  2014. Coach Schultz's love and dedication to the game is as strong today as it was 30 years ago. "Schultzie"  is a 1967 graduate of Capac High School…and he is a proud Capac Chief. He believes in the girls, and wants them to succeed on and off the field. Capac Softball is thankful and appreciative of Bills continuous support of the Lady Chiefs.

1989 Girls Varsity Basketball Team

The 1989 Varsity Girls Basketball team won the League, District and Regional titles and went on to play in the State Quarter-Finals. The girls made history when they tied Brown City and Armada for the league title then defeated Almont, Armada, and Brown City for the district championship. The team went on to beat Goodrich and Marlette to win the first girls regional in history.

James Seidell-Class of 1969

Capac Basketball-All-State Honorable Mention-1969, STA 1st Team-1968 and 1969. Brown City Basketball Coach-Record 128-71, Two League Championships, Three District Championships. Jim, an outstanding basketball player at Capac High School, started coaching Brown City in 1975.  He was considered the coach who turned the Green Devil program around.  Jim’s educational leadership influenced 2 communities of young people.

Jennifer has given countless hours to our children, school, and community helping with academics & athletics.  Capac appreciates  Jennifer's  commitment to our school and community.

Richard "Dick" Baker

Dick Baker has been involved in coaching and education for over 40 years. The first 30 he spent at Port Huron Northern High School. He is a member of the Port Huron Hall of Fame and also is a member of the Michigan High School Football and Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame.

In 1996 Dick came out of retirement to be the Assistant Principal at Capac High School, a position he held until 2001. He continued his position as Assistant Varsity Football Coach though the 2006 season.
Through the last ten years “Bake” has been a tremendous asset to Capac Community Schools. He has served as a mentor not only to the students of Capac but to the Teachers and Coaches as well. Any student or faculty member that has come in contact with Bake during his tenure here in Capac would agree that he is definitely worthy of being in the Capac Hall of Fame.

2001 Varsity Football Team

The 2001 Varsity Football Team, coached by Matt Topie, Dick Baker, Troy Schneider, Bill Nestle and Jason Klink was one of the most successful teams in Capac history.  The team finished as Southern Thumb Association Champs (10-3), District Champs, and Regional Champs.  The team tied the 1998 team with most wins in school history.  We are pleased to induct the 2001 Varsity Football Team into the Capac Hall of Fame.

Barb Redding has served as an exemplary person to the youth of our Capac Community.  She has been a leader and dedicated teacher/coach for the past 25 years to the students and staff of Capac High School.

She is an innovator, educator and believer in interscholastic athletics for men and women.
