Dear Parents and Students of Capac Jr.-Sr. High School: We hope your summer has been fun and relaxing! Now is the time to notify you that our Jr.–Sr. High School Orientation has been set for Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 in the cafeteria. Here's the schedule: 7th Grade- 4:00 PM & 7th grade Parent/Student Mtg., Jr. High Gym with Principal @ 4:30 8th Grade- 4:30 PM 9th Grade- 5:00 PM 10th Grade- 5:15 PM 11th Grade-5:30 PM 12th Grade- 5:45 PM At Orientation you should pick up your schedule and return the following completed items: 1. Emergency card 2. AUP agreement forms for 7 th & new students 3. Online Permissions letter 4. Education Benefits Form 5. Seniors ONLY: Yellow card with graduation information 6. Parking permit applications will be accepted 7. Picture Day will be Wednesday, September 4th – please save your order forms. Make-up day TBD. All students are required to take a picture for photo ID. Unfortunately, Capac Community Schools will not be participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) this summer as we are not eligible this year through the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). We are now accepting applications from individuals interested in filling the open board position on the Capac Board of Education as we are required to fill the vacancy within 30 days according to board policy. Individuals should submit their resumes to the Board President, Tim Lewis (tlewis@capacschools.us), and Interim Superintendent, Amy Nelson (anelson@capacschools.us) by 9 am, Wednesday, May 15, 2024. All candidate interviews will be open to the public following the requirements of the Open Meetings Act and will be held at the May 21st regular board meeting. An individual will be appointed to serve until the next regular election has been held, and certified and a newly elected individual has been sworn in.

Don't forget, there is a half-day today with dismissal at 11:15 am. Teacher PD in the afternoon.

Do you have a child who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2024? If your answer to that is "yes", have you registered for kindergarten with Capac Community Schools yet? Kindergarten Round-up is coming up on Friday, April 12th! All incoming Capac kindergarteners will receive a kindergarten readiness kit like the one shown below when they sign up and attend Round-up. Capac Schools: Due to the expected snowy and icy conditions tomorrow morning, Capac Community Schools will be closed on Friday, 3/22. Daycare and all activities will also be closed. Enjoy your spring break... See you Tuesday, 4/2.

Don't forget that Spring Break begins next Monday, March 25th, and runs through April 1st. Classes resume April 2nd at 8:00 am.

Just a reminder that Thursday, February 29th and Friday, March 1st are half-days with dismissal at 11:15 am. Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Feb. 29th in the afternoon and evening.

There was an error on the elementary lunch menu for March 1st, which is a half-day. The menu for the half day will be as follows: Pizza Lunchables, fresh fruit and vegetables along with a choice of milk. We apologize for any confusion.

February 14th is Student Count Day in Michigan schools. Count day happens twice a year here in Michigan; it is when all public schools in Michigan tally the number of students attending their schools. Count information is critical to districts because each student translates into state funding. Show some love and make sure your student is here on February 14th for Student Count Day. 💙💛

All after-school activities and athletics are canceled for 1/30/2024. Childcare will remain open during their normal hours.
